Internships

We have year round internships available to work with our microcredit program in Peru.  We are in the process of restructuring our program so that the interns are better prepared for their experience in Peru and their work in the rural communities of Iquitos.  The interns will be chosen through programs similar to that of BYU's Academic Internships where they can earn credit for their internship.   BYU requires that the interns attend cultural preparation courses and skill workshops which is of benefit to each organization and ensures that each intern has an established curriculum and also outlines the expectations of each partnering organization.

The skills and qualifications for this internship are:

  1. Background in finance, business, economics or International studies (or an equivalent work experience in a related field).
  2. Self motivated, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and attentive to details.
  3. Bilingual fluency (Spanish/English)
  4. Organizational skills- strong computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Word and use of the Internet.

These internships are a minimum of 3 months which is almost a full micro-loan cycle, but could be as long as 1 year.

If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity that is short or long term but does not involve living outside of the United States, The Hope Alliance is looking for a Grantsmanship and Proposal Writing Intern or a Community Development Intern that will work closely with our office staff and board members.

If you would like to work as a full-time employee of The Hope Alliance, please contact Monty Eggett at monty@thehopealliance.org.
